Wait time and rush hour features added!
When you’re getting a ride in a cab there and the cab stops, the meter does not stop ticking. This led me to bring in the calculation of wait time. Wait time can mean the cabby is stopped at a red light, stop sign or is just caught is busy traffic.
I phoned Blue Line Taxi here in Ottawa and the cab driver told me it’s about $0.35/minute for wait time. I will look further into this but for the time being, that’s what it’s set as – I will give the user the ability to change this shortly.
I’ve also added a detection for rush hour. If the user looks for a cab between 7am and 9am, 12 noon to 1 pm or 4 – 6 they will be given a notice that it’s rush hour and the wait time will increase to $0.60/minute. Let me know what you think!

I really wish there was a possible feature to find out how long wait time is to get a cab from each company .. Like today on New Years, with the bus strike, how long will we be waiting for cabs? I don’t even know if there is something like this possible, but it sure would be handy! Thanks for making taxime – it is amazing!
